Paul DeMuro has devoted more than 30 years of practice exclusively to litigation and trial work. . He represents plaintiffs and defendants in complex disputes involving significant financial exposure, operational risk, reputational concerns, civil rights and regulatory scrutiny.
Paul has tried cases and argued appeals in state and federal trial and appellate courts across the country in both civil and criminal matters. He also regularly represents clients before FINRA arbitration panels, major private arbitration tribunals throughout the United States, and the London Court of International Arbitration. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers.
Clients rely on Paul when disputes become business-critical or personally consequential. His practice includes complex commercial litigation, oil and gas disputes, securities matters, construction litigation, intellectual property and trade secret litigation, employment and civil rights cases, class actions, catastrophic personal injury claims, and selected criminal defense matters.
Paul joined Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers PLLC in 1996 after practicing in New Mexico for three years. Since 2003, he has served on the Criminal Justice Act Panel for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma, representing indigent defendants in federal criminal cases. Since 2010, he has also served as an Adjunct Settlement Judge for the Northern District of Oklahoma as part of the court’s mandatory settlement conference program.
Paul graduated second in his class from the University of New Mexico School of Law, where he served as Notes Editor for the UNM Law Review, was elected to the Order of the Coif, and received the Julia Raymond McCulloch Constitutional Law Award. He earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, where he played varsity football.
