J. Michael Medina has practiced law for more than four decades, representing clients in appellate, business, oil and gas, and complex litigation matters. While his practice includes general business matters and transactional oil and gas work, he is widely recognized for his extensive appellate practice and involvement in appeals at every level of state and federal courts.
Clients rely on Mike for strategic appellate advocacy, sophisticated legal analysis, and deep experience handling complex legal issues arising from commercial disputes, employment matters, environmental litigation, and energy-related litigation. He is known for his thoughtful legal reasoning, persuasive advocacy, and ability to navigate difficult legal questions in high-stakes litigation.
Mike joined Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers PLLC in 1994. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced for 19 years with Holliman, Langholz, Runnels & Dorwart, where he became a partner in 1980. During that period, he also served twice as a judge.
Mike is a charter member of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers.
