Samuel S. Ory has practiced as a counselor and litigator in corporate restructuring and bankruptcy matters since 1994. His practice focuses on sophisticated Chapter 11 proceedings, financial restructurings, bankruptcy litigation, distressed asset transactions, and out-of-court workouts.

He has represented virtually every major constituency in business bankruptcy cases, including debtors, Chapter 11 trustees, creditors’ committees, secured lenders, indenture trustees, DIP lenders, unsecured creditors, investors, and purchasers of distressed companies and assets.
Sam also has extensive experience in litigation arising within bankruptcy proceedings and general commercial litigation in both state and federal courts. His appellate experience includes matters before United States District Courts, Bankruptcy Appellate Panels, and the United States Courts of Appeal for the Eighth and Ninth Circuits.
Sam joined Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers PLLC in 2009. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced in the Chicago office of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP and previously with Bryan Cave LLP in Kansas City.
