Michael A. Carson is a transactional attorney who leverages his expertise as a Certified Public Accountant to provide practical business guidance to banks, companies, borrowers, and other financial stakeholders. His practice focuses on banking and finance law, lending and commercial transactions, general corporate matters, and general contracts review.
Clients value Michael’s combination of legal and accounting experience, which allows him to analyze transactions from both a legal and financial perspective. He is known for his analytical approach, attention to detail, and ability to manage transactions efficiently while incorporating both operational and financial considerations.
Michael joined Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers PLLC as an Associate Attorney in 2025. He graduated from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2024 with Highest Honors and was inducted into the Order of the Curule Chair for finishing in the top 10% of his class.
During law school, Michael earned the highest grade in numerous legal courses, including Contracts, Corporate Law, Property, Estates and Trusts, and Legal Writing, receiving the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in each course. He also received Oklahoma Bar Association awards for outstanding achievement in Business and Corporate Law and Estate Planning, Probate, and Trusts, along with the Oklahoma Bar Association Outstanding Senior Law Student Award and the George and Jean Price Award for Outstanding Student in Legal Writing.
While attending law school, Michael obtained his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, passing all sections of the CPA exam on his first attempt and earning the Oklahoma Society of CPAs Silver Medal Award. He also clerked with DORWART and served as Business Manager for the Tulsa Law Review.
Prior to law school, Michael attended the University of Tulsa, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2021 with a double major in Accounting and Energy Management and a minor in Economics.
