John S. Gawey represents commercial banks, investment banks, private equity sponsors, and corporate borrowers in sophisticated financing and transactional matters. His practice focuses on acquisition and leveraged financings, tribal finance transactions, asset-based lending, reserve-based lending for oil and gas transactions, and working capital credit facilities.

He is known for his analytical approach, responsiveness, and ability to efficiently manage sophisticated transactions from structuring through closing.
Before joining Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers PLLC, John practiced as an associate with White & Case LLP in New York from 2013 to 2018, where he advised clients on complex domestic and international finance transactions. Following law school, he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Charles R. Wilson of the US Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
John graduated summa cum laude from the University of Oklahoma and magna cum laude from Notre Dame Law School, where he was a member of the Notre Dame Law Review.
