Amy Newsome advises clients on estate planning matters and fiduciary structures involving trusts and collective investment arrangements. She has worked with individuals to create a full array of estate planning documents. She also has experience with high net worth and family business planning to assist with the generational transfer of wealth while implementing tax efficient planning tools.
Amy’s career experience includes a broad range of business, corporate, fiduciary, and securities law matters, with a particular focus on the investment management industry and the federal and state laws governing investment advisers, mutual funds, and broker-dealers. Her clients have relied on Amy for strategic regulatory guidance, compliance counseling, fiduciary analysis, and practical business advice involving complex financial and investment-related operations.
She regularly advises investment advisers, broker-dealers, banks, collective investment vehicles, trusts, and nonprofit organizations on regulatory compliance, governance, fiduciary obligations, and operational matters. Amy has extensive experience representing financial institutions in ongoing Office of General Counsel-type advisory roles.
Amy joined Frederic Dorwart, Lawyers PLLC in 2004. Prior to joining the firm, she served as in-house counsel for WilTel Communications and The Williams Companies.
