Stan Eigenbrodt has more than 30 years of experience advising businesses, investment sponsors, financial institutions, and corporate leadership teams on securities, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, compliance, and enterprise risk management matters.
Clients rely on Stan for sophisticated strategic counsel informed by both extensive in-house executive leadership experience and major law firm practice. He is particularly experienced in advising investment platforms, real estate investment sponsors, broker-dealers, and registered investment advisers on regulatory compliance, organizational governance, capital formation, and transactional matters.
Stan spent more than 16 years as Chief Legal Officer of Behringer, a sponsor of public and private real estate and real estate-related investment funds, including publicly registered non-listed REITs, interval funds, and closed-end funds. During his tenure, Behringer and its affiliates raised more than $6 billion in equity for various public and private investment products.
While at Behringer, Stan also served as Chief Legal Officer of the company’s broker-dealer and Chief Compliance Officer of its registered investment adviser. He was a member of the executive committee responsible for strategic planning and investment product development and oversaw all legal, compliance, and risk management functions.
Prior to joining Behringer, Stan practiced corporate, mergers and acquisitions, and securities law at Glast Phillips & Murray in Dallas and at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher in both Dallas and Washington, D.C. He also served as General Counsel of an NYSE-listed and later foreign-owned equipment rental company operating 150 stores across 29 states.
